Orthoceras are extinct nautiloid cephalopods (mollusks) that lived on Earth more than 400 million years ago. The word, "orthoceras" means "straight horn", referring to the characteristic long, straight, conical shell which is visible in this exquisite piece. The preserved shell is all that remains of this ancestor of our modern-day squid.

You can wear this exquisite piece of natural history; carrying it with you, wherever you go. This well-preserved orthoceras fossil has been wrapped in genuine Sterling silver wire with faceted tanzanite beads, set in delicate, herringbone weaves cascading down the sides. The entire pendant measures 52x25x16mm (2.0" x 1.0" x 0.6"). Your choice of chain will be included with your order.

Your one-of-a-kind pendant will arrive in a lovely gift box, packaged securely in a bubble envelope and shipped with international tracking (included). This piece is one-of-a-kind since each and every fossil is unique.

*American quarter and Canadian toonie (coins) are shown for scale and will not be included with the jewelry.
**Comes with a signed certificate of authenticity, filled in & signed by the artist; photo of the piece & materials are listed on the reverse side of the card.
