This beautiful, hand-woven pendant was made with a natural rainbow moonstone cabochon, set in solid copper wire, woven gracefully to feature the ethereal, multicoloured glow, emanating from within the stone. Three sparkling Herkimer diamonds are set in copper beads, adding to the natural beauty of the focal stone. The copper was oxidized, hand-polished to an aged finish, then sealed in clear lacquer for ease of care. The pendant comes suspended on your choice of chain and measures 45x30x21mm (1.8" x 1.2" x 0.8").
Herkimer diamonds are double-terminated (pointy at both ends) quartz crystal found in exposed outcrops of dolostone in and around Herkimer County, New York and the Mohawk River Valley. While such double-terminated crystals may also be found in other parts of the world, crystals originating in New York are known for their extreme clarity.
