This gorgeous, rich pendant was made with a raw, uncut Ethiopian desert opal rock, fresh from the ground and still in it's natural matrix, and woven in solid Sterling silver wire with three faceted, rainbow moonstones, set in delicate herringbone weaves. The ethereal, misty tones of the stones come to life with vivid green, blue and orange patches, flashing across exposed areas of the stones at different angles-- truly a delight!
The wire was oxidized naturally with egg yolk, then sealed in clear lacquer to resist tarnish and protect the aged finish of the piece over time. The pendant comes suspended on your choice of chain and measures 31x25x17mm (1.2" x 1.0" x 0.7"). This is a one-of-a-kind item and there won't ever be another like it. It is rare to find welo opals set in antiqued Sterling silver because polishing is such a delicate process.
This piece comes in a luxurious, black velvet jeweler's box, contained in a cardboard outer shell (so you can wrap the box without damaging the velvet); perfect for gift-giving. This is an heirloom-quality piece you can treasure for many years to come.
*Coin is shown for scale and will not be included with the jewelry.
**Comes with a signed certificate of authenticity, filled in and signed by the artist; photo of the piece and materials are listed on the reverse side of the card.
