This gorgeous pendant was handcrafted with a natural, Mexican hyalite opal with vivid green fluorescence under UV (365nm) light. The icy Herkimer diamonds cascade down the sides and fluoresce a vivid indigo under the same UV light. Solid Sterling silver wire was gracefully woven to cascade around the stones in this stunning, one-of-a-kind piece. The wire was oxidized naturally with egg yolk, then hand-polished to create the aged finish of the pendant, which measures 34x29x21mm (1.3" x 1.1" x 0.8") and comes suspended on your choice of Sterling silver chain.
Herkimer diamonds are double-terminated (pointy at both ends) quartz crystal found in exposed outcrops of dolostone in and around Herkimer County, New York and the Mohawk River Valley. While such double-terminated crystals may also be found in other parts of the world, crystals originating in New York are known for their extreme clarity.
This piece comes in a luxurious, black velvet jeweler's box, contained in a cardboard outer shell (so you can wrap the box without damaging the velvet); perfect for gift-giving.
